Barrier films are used to improve the shelf life and the quality
of products f.e. foods and animal foods. Barrier films against
humidity also prevent that a wet product will not dry up (like
bakery products), and they also prevent that dry food products
will get damp.

 

Barriers against oxygen prevent the oxidation process of
sensitive products which contain oil and fat and they protect
the products to go mouldy. Barriers against aroma will keep
the own aroma of goods like coffee or tea and the products
are protected against other odours of the surrounding (like
odour of petrol). Opaque barriers prevent any oxidations
process and the protect the fatty goods to turn rancit.
